In Q4 2021, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Germany saw interesting trends. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Bolt: Request a Ride showed a fluctuating download pattern, peaking at around 41K in the first week of October and dropping to approximately 22K in mid-December before rising again to 32K in the final week. Weekly active users saw a high of about 120K at the end of October, but dipped to around 85K by mid-December, recovering slightly to 91K in the last week of the year.

Uber - Request a ride experienced steady weekly downloads, starting at 27K and ending the quarter at 34K. Active users started strong at 584K in the last week of September but dipped to 429K by mid-December, before climbing back to 502K in the final week.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus maintained consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 10K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a significant peak in mid-October at around 113K, then settled to about 93K by the end of December.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw varied download trends, starting at around 4.4K, dipping to 2.2K in early December, and ending the quarter at 8.3K. Active users showed a general upward trend, rising from 28K at the start of the quarter to nearly 39K by the end of December.

MOIA in Hamburg & Hanover had relatively stable downloads, with a notable peak at around 3K in the last week of December. Active users fluctuated mildly but ended the quarter with a rise from around 3K at the start to 3.6K by the end.
